Responsibilities For Principal Starship Engineer

  • Close architectural trades by leading and arbitrating interdisciplinary trades
  • Report program status and risks internally and externally
  • Set scrappy, positive, and hardware-rich culture within the team
  • Hire and mentor individual contributors and people leaders within the Starship team
  • Capture and distill customer mission requirements into actionable objectives
  • Develop system requirements and interface control documents
  • Lead reviews with customers and ensure technical contract deliverables

Requirements For Principal Starship Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams to produce engineering products
  • Must be available for extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering or relevant engineering discipline preferred
  • Experience with launch vehicles, space vehicles, and control systems preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with external customers
