Description For Production Project Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Production Project Engineer to join their Starlink division in Bastrop, TX. This role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the world's largest satellite constellation project, currently serving over 4 million users globally with high-speed internet.

The position combines hands-on engineering with project management, requiring expertise in both technical and leadership capacities. As a Production Project Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing, building, and activating infrastructure for various projects at the Starlink production facility. The role demands a strong background in engineering fundamentals, with particular emphasis on civil and utility components.

Working within SpaceX's elite engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to drive meaningful change and own projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities For Production Project Engineer (Starlink)

  • Lead a project team of engineers, consultants, and contractors throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction process
  • Manage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for manufacturing line projects
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors
  • Accountable for accurate budgeting and cost forecasting
  • Develop and manage production strategies
  • Define new business processes and systems for high volume production
  • Coordinate and schedule work with internal SpaceX teams and external contractors
  • Assist production/engineering leadership team to identify trends and opportunities

Requirements For Production Project Engineer (Starlink)

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing, or industrial project management
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
