Responsibilities For Propulsion Engineer (Merlin Development and Hardware)

  • Own critical spaceflight hardware
  • Lead Merlin development and qualification test campaigns
  • Perform design, analysis, development engineering, and flight operations tasks for Merlin engine propulsion systems
  • Interact with engineers and technicians from all disciplines
  • Work closely with commercial and governmental customers
  • Exercise risk-conscious decision-making skills under pressure
  • Implement and maintain rigorous hardware and software verification processes
  • Work closely with launch sites to develop inspection procedures
  • Lead anomaly investigations
  • Practice flexible prioritization and scope management

Requirements For Propulsion Engineer (Merlin Development and Hardware)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of hands-on hardware experience
  • 1+ years of experience related to combustion devices or rocket engine development
  • 1+ years of experience using CAD to design parts/assemblies
  • Willing to travel for launching and testing of hardware
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Analytical/scientific programming experience
  • Experience with Siemens NX and ANSYS preferred
