Description For RF Software Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking an RF Software Engineer to join their Starlink team. This role presents a unique opportunity to work on the world's largest satellite constellation, currently serving over 4 million users worldwide with high-speed internet access.

The position involves working at the intersection of RF engineering and software development, focusing on the customer hardware aspect of the Starlink system. You'll be part of a dynamic team that designs, builds, and validates RF systems crucial for delivering internet connectivity to diverse users - from teachers in the Amazon to researchers in Antarctica.

As an RF Software Engineer, you'll develop and implement RF-focused functionality and calibration software, working with sophisticated test equipment like vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers. The role requires a strong foundation in both software development and RF engineering principles, with opportunities to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or computer science, along with practical experience in programming languages like C#, C++, or Python. Knowledge of RF concepts and test methodologies is essential, while familiarity with SOLID software design principles and environmental testing is highly valued.

SpaceX offers a competitive compensation package starting from $120,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on experience level. The benefits package includes equity opportunities, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), paid parental leave, and generous vacation time. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to SpaceX's mission of making humanity a multi-planetary species while developing cutting-edge technology that connects the world.
