Description For RF/Analog IC Design Engineer (Silicon Engineering)

SpaceX is seeking an experienced RF/Analog IC Design Engineer to join their innovative Starlink team in Redmond, WA. This role is crucial in developing next-generation RFICs that will be deployed in both space and ground infrastructures globally, enabling connectivity in previously underserved areas.

Responsibilities For RF/Analog IC Design Engineer (Silicon Engineering)

  • Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems
  • Derive specifications for the RFIC subsystems and circuits
  • Develop Analog/Mixed-Signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe or CMOS processes
  • Work with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers
  • Perform IC floor planning and layout
  • Model package and external parasitic components
  • Evaluate and characterize prototypes of the design
  • Characterize and analyze full radio performance
  • Assist in the development of automated test lab equipment
  • Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification

Requirements For RF/Analog IC Design Engineer (Silicon Engineering)

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
  • 5+ years of RF integrated circuit experience
  • Experience using simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS, HFSS or Momentum
  • Circuit design skills and experience with linear and non-linear circuits
  • Knowledge of digital communication systems and modulation types
  • Knowledge of RF transceiver architectures
  • RF/microwave design experience in Ku-band, K-band and Ka-band frequency range
  • Familiarity with radio related test equipment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement)
