Description For SOFTWARE ENGINEER, HITL - TOP SECRET CLEARANCE

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company with the ambitious goal of enabling human life on Mars, is seeking a Software Engineer for their HITL (Hardware in the Loop) systems. This role requires Top Secret clearance and offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical flight systems.

The position involves designing, developing, and testing key aspects of in-house solutions for analysis, simulation, and prototyping of software that supports all SpaceX flight systems. You'll have full ownership of new features in a scalable high-performance application used to control and test flight systems. This high-impact role involves collaboration across engineering groups to build high-assurance systems that accelerate the development of cutting-edge software and hardware.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of software development experience, with expertise in languages like Python, C++, or Java. While aerospace experience isn't required, the role demands someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges and thrives in dynamic environments. You'll work with modern technologies including React, Kubernetes, and various CI/CD tools.

The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $120,000 to $170,000 annually, with additional benefits including equity, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), and various insurance options. Those with an active clearance receive a 10% differential bonus. The position offers significant growth potential within a company that's literally reaching for the stars.

What makes this role unique is the opportunity to directly impact the future of space exploration. You'll be working on software that's critical to mission success, dealing with interesting challenges that require innovative solutions. The role combines the excitement of space technology with the technical challenges of modern software development, making it an ideal position for someone who wants to be at the forefront of both space exploration and software engineering.
