Description For Software Engineer, Starship Manufacturing & Site Development (Application Software)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Software Engineer for their Starship Manufacturing & Site Development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to SpaceX's ambitious goal of making spaceflight as common as aviation and ultimately enabling human life on Mars. The position involves developing software solutions for the production of Starship and Superheavy vehicles at Starbase.

The role demands innovative thinking and first-principles problem-solving, working directly with vehicle engineering and production leadership. You'll have the autonomy to identify and solve problems across production and residential domains of Starbase, contributing to software infrastructure that will benefit multiple SpaceX programs.

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for full-stack development, system design, and maintenance of critical software systems. The position requires strong technical skills in various programming languages, modern development tools, and experience with both UNIX-like and Windows systems. You'll work with technologies including React, PostgreSQL, and message queuing systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $120,000 to $170,000 depending on experience level, plus additional benefits including equity opportunities, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), and generous paid time off. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that's literally reaching for the stars, making history in space exploration and human advancement.
