Responsibilities For Space Lasers Engineer, Electro-Optical (Starlink)

  • Apply expertise to laser communication system development, including design, analysis, and validation
  • Architect and implement novel algorithms and digital signal processing schemes
  • Define requirements for high-data-rate laser communication systems
  • Lead laser communication architecture definition
  • Participate in verification testing and lead anomaly investigation
  • Maintain link budgets, design specifications, and system capabilities data
  • Interface with manufacturing and supply chain teams
  • Collaborate with software and automation teams
  • Design and implement avionics hardware for space laser systems

Requirements For Space Lasers Engineer, Electro-Optical (Starlink)

  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or work experience in optics, photonics, laser technology
  • 1+ years of experience in programming (C++, LabVIEW, Python)

  • 1+ years of experience developing algorithms or implementing signal processing
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
