Description For Space Operations Engineer (Ground Operator Training)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Space Operations Engineer to join their ground operator training team. This role combines software development with spacecraft operations, focusing on preparing the next generation of space vehicle operators for interplanetary missions.

The position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the future of human spaceflight by developing and implementing training programs for spacecraft operators. You'll split your time equally between full-stack development and operator training, working with cutting-edge technology and directly supporting missions.

As a Space Operations Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining simulation environments, developing training content, and becoming a certified mission control operator yourself. You'll work closely with NASA and other partners, requiring excellent communication and technical skills.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical expertise and training experience, with programming skills in Python or JavaScript. You'll need to be adaptable, innovative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where decisions can have significant consequences.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation ranging from $95,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience level. The benefits package includes equity opportunities, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), and various other perks. This role requires occasional travel to SpaceX facilities across the US and may involve long hours during critical mission periods.

Join SpaceX in their mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species while working with some of the most advanced spacecraft systems ever developed.
