SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to join their Starship program. This role is crucial in developing the manufacturing capabilities that will help humanity become a multi-planetary species. The position combines advanced automation, robotics, and control systems engineering to build the future of space travel.

The role involves designing and integrating automated cells, safety logic systems, and motion-controlled systems to enhance Starship production and reliability. You'll be working with cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and be responsible for implementing complex automation solutions while ensuring compliance with industry safety standards.

As a Sr. Automation and Controls Engineer, you'll be directly involved in the entire project lifecycle, from initial factory ideation to machine commissioning and operational handoff. The position requires expertise in PLC programming, electrical system design, and the implementation of safety-compliant robotic systems. You'll work with various industrial technologies, including Siemens SIMATIC, robotics programming (ABB), and advanced HMI/SCADA systems.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or robotics systems design, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and safety standards. You'll need to demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems with elegant solutions while working in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to be part of SpaceX's mission to make humanity multi-planetary. You'll work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, have access to cutting-edge technology, and contribute directly to the development of Starship - the rocket that will take humans to Mars.
