Sr. Backend Software Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX, founded with the vision of exploring the stars, is seeking a Sr. Backend Software Engineer for their Starlink project. As part of the GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) organization, you'll build mission-critical systems to manage the world's largest satellite constellation. Your role involves developing software for collision avoidance, maneuver coordination, and orbital prediction tools. You'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the software you create, from development to testing and support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing highly reliable software systems for managing thousands of satellites in low-earth orbit
• Participating in architecture, design, and code reviews
• Creating mission-critical architecture for satellite information aggregation and decision-making

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (or 7+ years in lieu of a degree)
• Experience with Python and relational databases
• Knowledge of systems-level design for critical software infrastructure
• Familiarity with C++, Golang, distributed systems, and containerization technologies
