Responsibilities For Sr. Flight Reliability Engineer (Starship)

  • Take ownership of risk tracking for Starship Vehicle or component
  • Support technical reviews including vehicle state machine reviews, joint operations reviews, and CONOPs reviews
  • Organize and run flight readiness reviews and flight data reviews
  • Communicate technical risks to the executive leadership team
  • Provide real-time support for test and flight as the authority for vehicle risk
  • Support anomaly investigations using tools such as fault trees, fishbones, and 5 whys
  • Influence and drive the implementation of process and tools for the Starship program
  • Run projects or tool improvements to better manage and understand technical risk
  • Support regulatory and customer reviews as needed

Requirements For Sr. Flight Reliability Engineer (Starship)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience with engineering problem solving in design, analysis, or test of systems
  • SQL and/or Python experience (preferred)
  • High proficiency with basic computer applications
  • Experience with anomaly resolution and documentation (preferred)
  • Experience with engineering risk management, configuration, and change management (preferred)
  • On console test experience or support of launch and/or large-scale test operations (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter willing to continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to travel to other SpaceX sites
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee due to ITAR requirements
