Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer (Avionics)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer to join their Build Reliability team in Hawthorne, CA. The position offers extensive exposure across multiple technical domains, including sensors, RF systems, power electronics, vision systems, computation nodes, networking, batteries, and solar systems. As a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and operations, using data-driven approaches to enhance hardware reliability and quality.

The role demands both technical depth and breadth, requiring someone who can dive deep into complex technical problems while maintaining a system-level perspective. You'll collaborate with various teams, from core electrical design to manufacturing, making direct impacts on SpaceX's mission-critical hardware.

Key aspects of the role include conducting failure investigations, implementing process controls, supporting new product development, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll need strong hands-on experience with electrical test equipment and PCBA manufacturing, combined with the ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $125,000 to $175,000 annually, complemented by extensive benefits including equity opportunities, comprehensive healthcare, and retirement plans. This is an in-person role at SpaceX's Hawthorne facility, requiring occasional extended hours and weekend work.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, with a background in electrical engineering and hands-on hardware experience.
