SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior IC Layout Engineer for their revolutionary Starlink project - the world's largest satellite constellation providing high-speed internet to over 5 million users globally. As a Sr. IC Layout Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a world-class cross-disciplinary team, leading the technical aspects of IC layout design. You'll collaborate with RFIC/mixed signal designers on full chip layouts, working with advanced node technologies and high-frequency circuits. Responsibilities For Sr. IC Layout Engineer (Starlink)
- Work with IC designers and chip leads to determine chip floor plan, including power/ground distribution and pad locations
- Estimate layout work schedule and identify complex areas needing investigation
- Perform custom RF and analog circuit block layout with focus on matching and parasitic capacitance
- Conduct design rule checking, electrical rule checking, and layout versus schematic checks
- Perform top-level layout integration with ESD structures and pad assembly
- Work with EDA suppliers on new tools and features
- Create guides and demos for team layout technique improvements
Requirements For Sr. IC Layout Engineer (Starlink)
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience as IC layout designer OR 8+ years with IC layout design
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
- Strong analog layout skills
- Experience in advanced node IC layouts (22nm, 16nm, 7nm, 5nm or below)
- Experience in layout of circuits with frequencies up to 50GHz
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
