This role is integral to the IT Networking team, responsible for managing wireless networks across all SpaceX facilities that support rocket design, manufacturing, and space launches.
The position primarily focuses on wireless network infrastructure at Starbase, with occasional travel to other sites. As a Sr. IT Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing wireless network solutions that support critical space technology operations. Responsibilities For Sr. IT Network Engineer
- Design access point placements for new wireless network deployments
- Work closely with network infrastructure team for access point deployment
- Perform wireless surveys to identify coverage gaps/performance concerns
- Troubleshoot wireless issues across enterprise deployment
- Schedule and perform software and hardware updates
- Procure and manage wireless hardware inventory
- Monitor wireless network health using in-house and 3rd party tools
- Create and maintain documentation of wireless networks across all sites
Requirements For Sr. IT Network Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other engineering discipline and 5+ years professional network engineering experience; OR 7+ years experience
- Expert understanding of wireless/RF technologies
- Experience with CBRS deployments
- Experience with Cisco wireless LAN controllers
- Experience with Cisco DNA Center
- Experience with Ekahau wireless products
- Linux/Windows system administration
- Industry standard certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE)
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
