Description For Sr. Launch Engineer, Starship Stage 0

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Senior Launch Engineer for their revolutionary Starship Stage 0 program. This role represents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of redefining ground support systems for launch vehicles, with the ultimate goal of enabling rapid reusability of orbital boosters.

The position involves working on the cutting-edge launch mount and catch tower systems, which are crucial components in SpaceX's mission to make space travel more efficient and accessible. As a Sr. Launch Engineer, you'll be deeply involved in the entire process from design conceptualization through integration and testing of critical launch pad components.

The role demands a strong background in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with at least 5 years of professional experience in design, build, or manufacturing of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large steel structure construction, pressurized systems, and advanced CAD software.

Working at SpaceX offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to humanity's future in space exploration. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package including equity opportunities, medical coverage, and retirement plans. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $125,000 to $175,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

This role requires someone who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and isn't afraid of hands-on work in challenging conditions. You'll need to be comfortable working at heights up to 500 feet and in various weather conditions. The position demands both technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll often act as a supervisor to production technicians and skilled labor partners.

SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars drives everything they do, and this role is crucial in developing the infrastructure needed to achieve that goal. The company culture emphasizes innovation, rapid iteration, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space technology.

Due to ITAR requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. SpaceX is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in their workforce. The position is based at Cape Canaveral, with some travel required to other SpaceX facilities.

Join SpaceX in this pivotal role and be part of the team that's making history in space exploration and helping to make humanity a multi-planetary species.
