Responsibilities For Sr. Materials Engineer (Starlink)

  • Champion new material technologies for Starlink satellites from concept to production
  • Solve technical challenges in solar cell technologies, electronics packaging, and space-survivable materials
  • Perform reliability testing of new material technologies
  • Conduct root cause investigations of material-related failures
  • Participate in hardware design reviews
  • Perform satellite production process walk-downs
  • Mentor peers and team members
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams
  • Develop and publish material design allowables

Requirements For Sr. Materials Engineer (Starlink)

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in electronic materials, solar cell technologies, or related areas
  • Experience with characterization techniques and equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary
