SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their Materials Tool & Die team. This role is crucial in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for Starlink consumer hardware, the world's largest satellite constellation providing internet to over 4 million users globally.

Responsibilities For Sr. Process Engineer, Mold Flow

  • Inform engineering teams with expertise in plastic molding, identifying ways to enhance manufacturability and mold performance
  • Collaborate with engineers on Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Fine-tune tooling strategies, including runner, gate, and cooling designs
  • Optimize molding processes, reduce cycle times, improve efficiency, and minimize defects
  • Use advanced molding simulation tools to boost production operations
  • Analyze data from simulations and improve molding processes

Requirements For Sr. Process Engineer, Mold Flow

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience running Moldflow software simulations
  • 3+ years of experience working with injection molding machines
  • Knowledge of engineering thermoplastic resins and processing
  • Experience with 3D modeling and mold filling analysis
  • Understanding of DFM
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Experience in molding simulation with Moldflow or similar software
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
