Sr. Security Software Engineer (Starshield)

SpaceX, a company dedicated to making humanity a multi-planetary species, is seeking a Sr. Security Software Engineer for their Starshield project. Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology for national security efforts, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. As a Sr. Security Software Engineer, you'll influence software security across product lines, design and build security infrastructure, develop security features for various systems, and maintain existing production systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering, applied cryptography, network security, and other related fields. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starshield
• Develop security features for various systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites)
• Design security into factory processes
• Maintain and improve existing production systems
• Build prototypes and identify security improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM field with 5+ years of experience, or 7+ years of experience without a degree
• Proficiency in languages like Python, C++, or Golang
• Experience in designing and implementing security solutions for large-scale systems
• Potential for obtaining Top Secret Clearance
• Experience with security hardware (TPMs, HSMs) is preferred
• Strong understanding of network protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
