Description For Sr. Structural Engineer, Launch Pad (Starship)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their launch pad development team for the Starship program. This role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to humanity's journey to Mars by designing and building infrastructure for the world's most powerful rocket.

The position is based in Starbase, Texas, where you'll work alongside elite engineers to develop a second orbital launch pad for Starship. This role combines civil and structural engineering expertise with the excitement of space technology development. You'll lead projects from conception through completion, managing teams, contractors, and complex technical challenges.

As Sr. Structural Engineer, you'll be responsible for critical infrastructure that will enable orbital launches of Starship. The role demands both technical excellence and leadership skills, requiring you to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to balance theoretical engineering knowledge with practical field experience, as the position involves hands-on work in various environmental conditions.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of structural engineering experience, with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and construction management. You'll need to be comfortable with various design software and have comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and codes. A Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering (SE) license is preferred.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation ($125,000-$175,000) and comprehensive benefits, including equity opportunities, medical coverage, and retirement plans. This is more than just an engineering role – it's an opportunity to be part of humanity's next giant leap into space exploration. The position requires ITAR compliance and a commitment to working on-site in Starbase, Texas.
