As a Sr. Wireless Software Engineer on the Starlink team, you'll be at the forefront of solving complex engineering challenges in satellite communications. You'll work on firmware and embedded systems that control thousands of satellites, develop advanced networking algorithms, and create infrastructure for a global communications network. The position combines expertise in wireless communications, signal processing, and embedded systems programming.

Responsibilities For Sr. Wireless Software Engineer (Starlink)

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain physical and MAC layer software of the wireless software stack for Starlink communications network
  • Participate in architecting current and next-gen Starlink hardware and signal processing algorithms
  • Participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, verification and launch
  • Work with other teams for cross-layer integration of the end-to-end system
  • Develop prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Collaborate with other engineers to plan and organize product development

Requirements For Sr. Wireless Software Engineer (Starlink)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with C or C++
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with wireless software or network protocols
  • Strong knowledge of wireless communications, signal processing and/or network protocols
  • Knowledge of RF systems and fundamentals
  • Experience writing software for RF/mixed-signal integrated circuits and systems
  • Familiar with Digital Signal Processing algorithms and techniques
  • Experience with lab equipment
  • Experience in physical and/or MAC layers in broadband access technologies
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
