Description For Structures Engineer (Starship)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Structures Engineer for their Starship program. This role is part of the Structures Subassemblies Build team, responsible for creating rapidly manufacturable assemblies for Starship and the Super Heavy Booster. The position involves working on critical components like Transfer Tube, Landing Tanks, Grid Fins, and Thermal Protection Subassemblies.

As a Structures Build Engineer, you'll collaborate with design teams from early phases to ensure manufacturability and oversee hardware production throughout its lifecycle. You'll work directly with production technicians, implementing improvements to parts, processes, and tooling. The role offers significant influence over vehicle design, equipment, and factory infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least one year of experience in manufacturing or production. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in relevant engineering fields, experience with large mechanical assemblies, knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques, and familiarity with aerospace production environments.

This position offers an unique opportunity to contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment, handling flight hardware, and participating in the development of next-generation space vehicles. The role requires physical capabilities for working in tight spaces and flexibility in scheduling to meet operational needs.

SpaceX provides an equal opportunity workplace and values diversity in their team. The position requires compliance with ITAR regulations, meaning candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
