Description For Structures Test Engineer

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Structures Test Engineer to join their Development Test group. This role is crucial in advancing SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars through the development and testing of innovative space technologies. As a Test Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of R&D, working on reducing hardware development time and increasing reliability for SpaceX's upcoming products, ground systems, spacecraft, and launch vehicles.

Responsibilities For Structures Test Engineer

  • Create test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
  • Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms
  • Supervise the integration of test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly and data/control systems
  • Operate test stands with great attention to detail

Requirements For Structures Test Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in mechanical structures design/analysis
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% to other SpaceX sites
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 lbs
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
