This role is integral to the Starlink program, focusing on supplier development for both satellite and ground station systems.

The Supplier Development Engineer II position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and supply chain management. You'll be responsible for improving quality, cost, and delivery metrics for mechanical hardware while collaborating across multiple departments. The role involves hands-on experience with assembly integration happening in-house, allowing you to witness your work come to life daily.

Responsibilities For Supplier Development Engineer II, Mechanical Systems (Starlink)

  • Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers
  • Support procurement team in strategic sourcing
  • Create and define supplier technical and quality requirements
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues
  • Implement and monitor production part approval process (PPAP)
  • Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics
  • Conduct research to identify potential new suppliers
  • Drive product & process improvements
  • Manage mission-critical supply chain relationships
  • Lead projects and drive continuous improvement

Requirements For Supplier Development Engineer II, Mechanical Systems (Starlink)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 3+ years of industry experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering, and/or mechanical engineering
  • Must be willing to work long hours and weekends when needed
  • Ability to travel up to 25-60% of work week
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
