This role is crucial in designing and supporting critical infrastructure for production facilities, launch infrastructure, and spacecraft support systems. The position involves working with complex telecommunications systems including fiber optics, data networks, and various communication systems supporting Falcon, Dragon, Starship, and Recovery Vessels operations.

Responsibilities For Telecommunications Engineer

  • Provide engineering support for design, operation, and troubleshooting of fiber optic and copper network infrastructure
  • Coordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams
  • Drive telecommunication projects using design change requests and monitoring data
  • Troubleshoot electrical system problems and conduct breaker coordination
  • Coordinate material procurement for large scale projects
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors
  • Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and maintain systems
  • Provide telecom engineering support to field technicians
  • Oversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance

Requirements For Telecommunications Engineer

Linux
  • 2+ years of experience designing or building commercial/industrial telecommunications systems
  • BICSI RCDD Certification OR bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Must be able to pass Air Force background checks
  • Must possess or be eligible for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (US citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel as needed
