Description For Systems Integration Engineer

SPAN is a mission-driven company focused on enabling electrification for all. They design, build, and deploy products to electrify our built environment, decarbonize our world, and slow the effects of climate change. As a Systems Integration Engineer at SPAN, you'll be part of the Systems Integration & Test Team, responsible for verifying and validating the entire system and managing key testing infrastructure. Your role will involve ensuring products perform to desired specifications and integrations meet stakeholder needs. You'll work cross-functionally with product, firmware, and software teams to design integration plans, conduct lab testing, and troubleshoot issues. This position requires a mix of planning and hands-on execution, with responsibilities including writing test plans, designing test rigs, automating testing, and reproducing and root-causing issues. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and a thirst for knowledge. Technical requirements include experience with high voltage systems, understanding of electromagnetism and power electronics, comfort with Linux and various communication protocols, and hands-on electrical skills. Requirements For Systems Integration Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in related program such as electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience with line voltage or high voltage DC
  • Understanding of electromagnetism, power electronics, and electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with command line interface (CLI) tools and general Linux comfort
  • Comfort using and reasoning about various communications protocols
  • Extensive experience using oscilloscopes and other electrical instrumentation
  • Solid hands-on electrical skills (wiring, soldering, etc.)
