Description For Senior Satellite Systems Engineer

As a Senior Satellite Systems Engineer at SpinLaunch, you'll be at the forefront of transforming the entire space landscape. You'll work on developing and managing satellite designs across various mission concepts, contribute to constellation architectures, and collaborate with design and test engineering teams.

Your responsibilities will include systems modeling, cost estimation, performance budget management, component selection, vendor evaluation, and risk assessment. You'll also be involved in generating and maintaining interface control documents and estimating development schedules.

We're looking for candidates with 5+ years of professional experience in satellite systems, strong skills in software tools for system performance modeling, and a deep understanding of satellite technologies. You should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering or a related field, with strong communication skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of experience, a Master's degree, and previous work on small LEO satellites. Experience with spacecraft top-level design, satellite simulations and models, and satellite operations is highly valued.

Requirements For Senior Satellite Systems Engineer

  • 5+ years professional design/development experience in satellite systems
  • Skill in using and creating software tools to model systems performance (MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of satellite technologies, design principles, and concepts of operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills
  • Passion for understanding complexity and finding answers to challenging questions
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (due to ITAR requirements)
