Spacecraft Systems Engineer

As a Spacecraft Systems Engineer at SpinLaunch, you'll be at the forefront of transforming the entire space landscape, creating a more affordable and sustainable space industry. You'll join a close-knit, collaborative team that thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning the development of unique satellite designs across various mission concepts
• Creating systems models representative of on-orbit conditions
• Generating and maintaining performance budgets
• Managing electrical, mechanical, and software interfaces
• Cost estimation, component selection, and vendor coordination
• Risk assessment and mitigation
• Contributing to designs of unique launch vehicle interfaces
• Conceptualizing constellation deployment schemes
• Developing satellite constellation architectures
• Communicating technical concepts with stakeholders
• Working on test plans and informing satellite design schedules

To excel in this role, you should have:

• 5+ years of professional spacecraft design/development experience
• Strong skills in using and creating software tools (MATLAB, Python, Excel)
• Deep understanding of spacecraft technologies and design principles
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to rapidly expand your knowledge

Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of experience, a Master's degree, previous work on small LEO satellites or constellations, and satellite operations experience.
