Description For Data Engineer I - Licensing

Join Spotify's Kelp team as a Data Engineer I in the Licensing division, where you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining enterprise data products for industry partners including record labels and audiobook publishers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with massive datasets, processing terabytes of data from hundreds of millions of users and billions of daily audio streams.

As part of the licensing team, you'll be instrumental in ensuring Spotify has the content rights needed for new product launches and profitable growth. You'll work with cutting-edge data processing frameworks and technologies, including Scala, Scio, Java, Flink, and Google Cloud Platform. The role combines technical expertise with business impact, as you'll gain deep insights into the music and audiobooks industries.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer I - Licensing

  • Scope, build, and improve data pipelines and API infrastructure
  • Process terabytes of data from Spotify's 100s of millions of users and billions of daily audio streams
  • Work with data processing frameworks, technologies, and platforms such as Scala, Scio, Java, Flink, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Improve data and API quality through testing, tooling and continuously evaluating performance
  • Share responsibility for on-call monitoring and incident handling for production systems
  • Collaborate with other software engineers, data scientists, and product owners
  • Gain deep insight into the mechanics of the music and audiobooks industries
