Junior Backend Engineer, Content Catalog

We are seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join our content team at Spotify. As part of our autonomous teams, you'll take full responsibility for a part of the Spotify ecosystem. Your role will involve writing high-standard code, hosting services in Google Cloud Platform, monitoring, measuring quality, and ensuring service reliability.

You'll be working in a team passionate about distributed backend systems, their scalability, and continuous development. Together, we strive to enhance the Spotify experience for users worldwide.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend services
• Building and operating infrastructure, toolsets, and deployment pipelines
• Collaborating with a diverse group of engineers across Spotify
• Taking operational responsibility for team-owned services, including on-call rotations
• Continuously improving our product through innovation and collaboration

We're looking for someone with:

• A degree in computer science or similar, with 1+ years of backend engineering experience
• Proficiency in Java and familiarity with other languages like Python and Scala
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Interest in current best practices and modern infrastructure
• Comfort with Linux environments and sound engineering practices
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms
