Description For Hardware Test Engineer

Stack is at the forefront of revolutionizing the trucking transportation industry through advanced autonomous systems and AI technology. As a Hardware Test Engineer, you'll join our Hardware Engineering team, playing a crucial role in the Integration Assembly Test and Checkout (IAT&C) of Stack's Automated Driving System (ADS).

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology, where you'll be responsible for testing and validating components and complete vehicle systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and IT organizations, to establish and improve manufacturing test capabilities.

Your role will involve hands-on troubleshooting, system integration, and test automation using Linux and Python. You'll work with various hardware interfaces, including CAN and Ethernet buses, and use common test equipment for debugging. The position requires a strong technical background combined with excellent communication skills, as you'll be coordinating with both hardware and software engineers for failure analysis.

Responsibilities For Hardware Test Engineer

  • Partner across engineering and IT orgs to establish manufacturing test capability
  • Triage and perform hands-on troubleshooting of issues detected during manufacturing and testing
  • Partner closely with internal engineering teams and external manufacturing teams
  • Bring-up, configure, update and test hardware modules using supplier-provided and internal tools
  • Automate and execute tests using linux terminal, Python and shell scripting
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures, work instructions and related documentation

Requirements For Hardware Test Engineer

Linux
Python
  • Bachelor Degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics or similar fields
  • Experience with hardware debugging at the system level including common test equipment such as DMMs
  • Experience with testing and debugging of automotive and robotics buses (CAN, Ethernet)
  • Experience with linux shell scripting, python
  • Clear communication and ability to coordinate with hardware and software engineers for failure analysis
