Description For Staff Software Engineer - Tracking

Stack is at the forefront of developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems for the trucking transportation industry. Our mission is to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in modern operations through cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and cloud technologies.

As a Staff Software Engineer on the tracking team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering ML solutions for tracking problems in self-driving systems. You'll work on state-of-the-art closed- and open-world tracking systems for L4 self-driving vehicles, contributing to the technical direction of both the tracking team and the broader perception organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing robust software for real-time, resource-constrained, safety-critical applications
  • Driving cross-functional features from problem statement to delivery
  • Proactively identifying and improving limitations in the existing tracking system
  • Aligning stakeholders through strong presentation and communication skills
  • Leading challenging technical topics and building consensus

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models in real-world environments
  • A track record of driving applied research projects from conception to completion
  • Experience delivering perception/tracking solutions for real-time robotic applications
  • Strong knowledge of advanced probabilistic algorithms for solving problems with uncertain inputs and imperfect models
  • Solid software engineering and algorithm design skills
  • Fluency in Python and experience with C++

Join Stack and be part of a diverse, inclusive team that values entrepreneurship and innovation. We're committed to building a culture that embraces differences across gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and identity. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of autonomous technology and want to make a significant impact on the future of transportation, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
