Description For Product Engineer

Stainless, a rapidly growing tech startup valued at over $35M and backed by prestigious investors like a16z and Sequoia, is revolutionizing the API infrastructure space. With notable customers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare, we're positioned at the forefront of API development innovation.

We're seeking a Product Engineer to join our Web Apps team in San Francisco, focusing on shaping our self-serve product. As an early team member, you'll have significant influence over our SDK Studio and public API development. This role combines frontend expertise with full-stack capabilities, requiring proficiency in modern web technologies like TypeScript and React.

Your responsibilities will span from crafting thoughtful design documents to implementing both UI and backend solutions. You'll be instrumental in building LLM-powered tools, improving our SDK Studio, and designing public APIs that form the backbone of the Stainless platform. The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with developers across various company sizes, from startups to enterprises, ensuring our solutions meet real-world needs.

The ideal candidate brings strong product sensibility, extensive experience with modern web applications, and a genuine passion for developer experience. We value polyglot developers who can work across multiple programming languages and have a deep understanding of API ecosystems.

We offer an attractive compensation package including competitive salary ($150K-$220K), generous equity, comprehensive healthcare, and flexible work arrangements including hybrid options and an annual remote work month. Join our growing team of ~20 people (expanding to ~40 in 2025) and help shape the future of API development.
