Description For Platform Engineer

StockX is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in Bangalore. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on both platform and infrastructure verticals, building and maintaining world-class foundational components that enable all of StockX Engineering.

As a Platform Engineer, you'll:

  • Build, maintain, and improve the platform that all StockX Engineering depends on
  • Work with Engineering Teams, IT, and Security to discover, design, and implement new technologies and solutions
  • Build tools that empower all engineers to run operationally excellent services
  • Use cutting-edge tools like Gloo, EKS, LaunchDarkly, Terraform, Datadog, and various AWS services
  • Take ownership of technology decisions and solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotations and monitor production systems
  • Work on projects related to DevOps, SRE, and Cloud Architecture
  • Help define how engineers contribute to a robust, cohesive, low-latency API
  • Build tooling for cloud deployment, administration, and monitoring tasks
  • Mentor other software engineers

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js or GoLang
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS services (EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Experience in managing RDS Databases
  • A strong understanding of scalable system design

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer

  • Research and implement cutting edge technology for massive scale
  • Take responsibility for the performance and uptime of team-owned services
  • Work on projects and implementations around DevOps, SRE, Cloud Architecture
  • Help define how engineers contribute to a robust, cohesive, low-latency API
  • Work autonomously and within loosely defined requirements
  • Work with other engineering teams to identify needs, improvements, and opportunities
  • Build tooling to automate routine cloud deployment, administration, and monitoring tasks
  • Mentor other software engineers
  • Build standard local/non-production environments for systems across the organization

  • Experience building highly resilient and scalable services
  • Strong understanding of system scalability and avoiding future bottlenecks
