Sylvera is on a mission to provide accurate carbon data for genuine climate impact. As a Software Engineer in the Field Data Science team, you'll be working on developing production pipelines to value the carbon stored across the world's ecosystems. Your role will involve:
- Developing pipelines with good software engineering practices for reliable and scalable data consumption.
- Collaborating with scientific and engineering experts to design, construct, and test machine learning models for predicting soil organic carbon.
- Working with various geospatial covariates and pioneering multi-scale lidar methods for above-ground biomass estimation.
- Proactively collaborating across Sylvera, including with the Earth Data Platform team on scalable engineering and ML practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in developing production pipelines in Python with software engineering practices (Git, CD/CI, test-driven development).
- Interest and skills in machine learning (PyTorch and computer vision models like CNNs are desirable).
- Experience with geospatial data (GDAL and xarray are a plus).
- A deep care for the climate and ecosystems of the earth.
- Self-starter attitude, thriving in evolving environments.
