Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is seeking an experienced and talented Audio Hardware Engineer. The role involves developing Audio Front End processing in Syntiant's next generation Neural Decision Processor SoCs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of executing all design cycle tasks from architecture to tapeout, as well as silicon bring-up and validation, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Microarchitecture and implementation of multiple logic blocks of Audio Front End
- Integration and verification of design blocks at chip level
- Quality checks of implemented RTL with LINT, CDC, and DFT rules
- Synthesis, constraints, and timing closure for the SoC
- Power consumption optimization
- Participation in silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization
- Documentation of implementation and deliverables
- Cross-functional collaboration for debugging and resolving platform and customer issues
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- Track record of 'first-pass success' in ASIC development cycles
- 7+ years of experience with Audio Hardware development using SystemVerilog/SystemC
- Proven track record in FFT and Digital Filter Design for audio (e.g., FIR, IIR, CIC, Butterworth)
- Experience with Adaptive Resampling Filter design (e.g., Farrow Re-sampler) is a plus
- Expertise in Dynamic Gain Control design for audio
- Experience with Synthesis, constraint development, and timing closure
- Familiarity with design quality checks (Lint, CDC, DFT rules)
- Proficiency in scripting languages, e.g., Python
- Experience with digital filter design using High Level Synthesis (HLS) with SystemC is advantageous
- Experience with Xtensa HIFI DSP is beneficial
- Silicon bring-up, debug, and chip demo development experience
