Description For MEMS Design Engineer

Syntiant Corp., a leader in AI software and semiconductor solutions, is seeking a MEMS Design Engineer for their expanding team. The company has recently entered into an agreement to acquire a large, multi-national sensor business with global revenues exceeding $250 million annually. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced R&D environment, focusing on MEMS technology for microphones and mobile platform applications.

The position requires expertise in MEMS design, characterization, and modeling/simulation, with additional value placed on experience in MEMS processing and acoustics. You'll be responsible for developing new design concepts and architectures, conducting modeling/simulation work, and performing various characterization tasks. The role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving in a market-oriented R&D team.

Responsibilities For MEMS Design Engineer

  • Design and analysis of MEMS devices
  • Perform FEM modeling and simulation analysis of new design concepts and architectures
  • Contribute device level and package level ideas for new designs
  • Develop analytical models to conduct analysis of multi-physical sensor and actuator interaction
  • Perform physical, electrical, acoustical, and optical characterization activities
  • Design critical experiments, analyze data, develop conclusions
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other engineers

Requirements For MEMS Design Engineer

  • MS or PhD degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or physics preferred)
  • 5+ years of MEMS experience in designing MEMS for volume applications
  • Experience creating 3D models
  • FEA modelling skills
  • Knowledge of lumped parameter modelling of MEMS
  • Experience with Thin-Film MEMS
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
  • MEMS device characterization experience
  • MEMS layout & verification
  • Familiarity with common MEMS/CMOS material properties
  • Knowledge of typical MEMS-CMOS interface circuitry
  • Excellent oral and written communication and people skills
