tastytrade is a dynamic financial services company that empowers individual traders through its various brands, including tastylive (an online financial media network), tastytrade (a self-directed retail brokerage firm), and tastyfx (a registered Forex broker-dealer). As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work on front-end systems to expand and improve the product suite, using technologies like Svelte, JavaScript, and other modern frameworks. You'll be responsible for developing trading client applications, providing technical leadership, conducting peer reviews, and collaborating with UX and Product teams to enhance user experience. The role offers a blend of technical challenges and leadership opportunities in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on disrupting the trading industry.
Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer
- Work on tastytrade's front-end trading client applications and account opening software
- Provide technical leadership for more junior members of the team
- Provide concise, constructive, and thoughtful peer reviews
- Translate requirements and technical direction into production-quality code
- Evaluate and build proof of concept implementations
- Contribute to scaling existing technology
- Partner with the UX team and Product teams to iterate on the current customer flows
- Write comprehensive tests for your code
- Perform infrastructure work as necessary
- Take ownership over several of tastytrade's systems or client-facing applications
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer
- Ability to learn quickly in areas without deep expertise
- Mastery of modern web development (JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, and CSS)
- Ability to jump into a brand new framework or language and quickly become productive
- Confident in ability to write tests and quickly deliver stable and performant software
- 5+ years of professional experience working as a software engineer on a team
- A keen eye for user experience and design
