Description For DC First Class Engineer

TechFlow, Inc. is seeking a DC First Class Engineer for their facility operations at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. This role combines technical expertise in HVAC systems with comprehensive facility maintenance responsibilities. The position offers competitive compensation at $60.43/hour plus benefits.

The role involves managing and maintaining critical infrastructure including chiller/power plant operations and building systems. As a DC First Class Engineer, you'll be responsible for both specialized HVAC maintenance and general facility upkeep, requiring a diverse skill set spanning electrical, carpentry, and plumbing work.

Responsibilities For DC First Class Engineer

  • Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures and motors
  • Use compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers and toilets
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance tasks
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters
  • Inform Shop Supervisor of problems and irregularities
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional requirements
  • Maintain specialized HVAC equipment and machinery

Requirements For DC First Class Engineer

  • Must have TS/SCI
  • Must have a DC 1st Class Engineer License
  • Member of IUOE local 99 or willing to join
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Ability to work in various temperatures and weather conditions
  • Knowledge of HVAC in commercial/industrial setting
  • Experience with hand tools and electrical testing devices
