LS302 - Lightspeed Customer Solution Engineer

Telesat (NASDAQ and TSX: TSAT) is a leading global satellite operator, providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide for over 50 years. The company is launching Telesat Lightspeed, a revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, scheduled to begin service in 2027. This network will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise users by delivering high capacity, security, resiliency, and affordability with ultra-low latency and fiber-like speeds.

As a Lightspeed Customer Solution Engineer in the Global Sales Engineering (GSE) Group, you will:

• Provide technical support for pre- and post-sales activities
• Develop effective solutions using Telesat's Lightspeed constellation
• Design cost-effective satellite and terrestrial communication link solutions
• Gather customer requirements and present solutions
• Offer technology recommendations and advice
• Perform modeling and simulations
• Conduct test and evaluation demonstrations

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and proposing Lightspeed communications solutions
• Working with the Global Sales Team and customers
• Preparing and presenting proposals
• Leading customer meetings
• Identifying new revenue opportunities
• Planning upgrades and resolving service issues
• Collaborating with Marketing and Product teams
• Supporting projects from design to implementation
• Participating in trade shows and technical demonstrations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking, Cloud, or Computer Science
• 10+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or connectivity solutions
• Knowledge of OSI layers, networking technologies, and protocols
• Experience with satellite communications and RF link analysis (preferred)
• Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/ENT)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and events
