Telesat, a leading global satellite operator (NASDAQ and TSX: TSAT), is seeking a Senior Specialist SW Developer for their revolutionary Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network. With over 50 years of experience, Telesat is known for engineering excellence, reliability, and industry-leading customer service.

The role involves:

  • Collaborating on design, coding, testing, and maintenance of software applications
  • Developing embedded software using C++ and Python
  • Implementing networking solutions and cloud technologies
  • Leading technical discussions and guiding decision-making processes
  • Owning specific software modules

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing advanced satellite ground segment software
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software defects
  • Leading embedded SW test methodologies
  • Maintaining documentation of software designs and processes

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 14+ years of experience in software development, focusing on embedded systems
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with satellite communication systems (preferred)
