As a Physical Design Engineer, you'll be integral to our high-performance CPU and AI/ML architecture development. You'll work on all implementation aspects from synthesis to tapeout for various IPs on the chip, collaborating with experienced engineers across different domains of AI chip development.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with industry-standard tools and flows, handling complex physical design challenges including synthesis, PnR, timing closure, and power optimization. You'll interact with third-party IP providers, foundry partners, and contribute to innovative solutions for improving power, performance, and area of designs.

Responsibilities For Physical Design Engineer
- Define PD requirements and work with front-end team to understand chip architecture
- Perform physical design tasks including synthesis, PnR, timing closure, area improvement, floorplanning, clocking, I/O planning and power optimization
- Engage in discussions with 3rd party IP providers, foundry partners and design services
- Handle end to end tasks from flow development to sign-off
- Deploy innovative techniques for improving power, performance and area of design
Requirements For Physical Design Engineer
- BS/MS/PhD in EE/ECE/CE/CS
- Hands-on experience with synthesis, block and chip level implementation
- Strong experience in SOC/ASIC/GPU/CPU design flows on taped out designs
- Experience with back-end design tools (Primetime, Innovus, RedHawk)
- Knowledge of low-power design flows
- Strong programming skills in Tcl/Perl/Shell/Python
- Excellent understanding of logic design fundamentals
- Prior experience with high performance technology nodes
- Strong problem solving and debug skills
