As a Mechanical/Thermal Design Engineer, you will own design and productization of mechanical and thermal solutions for high-performance PCIe Cards and high power, multi-chip Server systems. You will be working with key stakeholders and pulling cross-functional teams together for planning and executing complex programs end-to-end. You will succeed through effective partnering and collaboration with product management, hardware, software, supply chain, NPI teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and validate complex mechanical/thermal solutions for high-performance PCIe Cards and high-power multi-chip Server Systems
- Run and evaluate thermal simulations involving air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems
- Validate designs with product-level reliability testing
- Design complex parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software
- Provide mechanical requirements, review designs, and validation test plans
- Manage complex BOMs and product lifecycles in a PLM system
- Collaborate with world-class suppliers, contractors, and test labs
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 8+ years of experience in design
- Experience designing cooling solutions and enclosures for electronics
- Exposure to thermal simulation tools such as Ansys IcePak (preferred), FlowTherm, or SW Flow Simulation
- Experience designing with vapor chambers, thermal interface materials, fans, heat pipes, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, etc.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3DExperience are preferred, with wire harness and surfacing experience
- Experience with various part manufacturing processes
- Proficient with creating part and assembly drawings, deep knowledge of GD&T
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This role is remote, based out of Taipei, Taiwan, and requires frequent supplier visits in Taiwan and international travel up to 10% of the time.
