Terran Orbital, a pioneer in satellite technology and space solutions, is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join their innovative team. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite systems, from concept through design, testing, and launch integration. The position involves creating detailed finite element models, conducting complex analyses, and managing mechanical test projects.

The ideal candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to identify and mitigate structural design risks, create sophisticated finite element models, and conduct various analyses including static, dynamic, buckling, and thermal analyses. They will also be responsible for developing test plans, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring successful project completion.

This role offers competitive compensation ranging from $75,000 to $135,000, depending on experience level. Responsibilities For Structural Analysis Engineer

  • Work with multidisciplinary team to reduce risks in structure design
  • Create detailed finite element models of satellite structures
  • Own mechanical test projects from start to finish
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports for mechanical analyses
  • Interface with outside vendors/test facilities
  • Participate in team discussions for vehicle arrangement and design
  • Design and analyze testing fixtures

Requirements For Structural Analysis Engineer

  • BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent degree
  • Up to 5 years of direct experience in structural analyses
  • Experience with Nastran/Patran
  • Understanding of solid mechanics and material science principles
  • Experience with Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
