Tesla's Aerodynamics & Aeroacoustics team is seeking an exceptional Aeroacoustics Engineer to contribute to their mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. This role combines cutting-edge automotive engineering with aerodynamics expertise, focusing on delivering world-class comfort and industry-leading safety in Tesla's innovative vehicles.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking products from conception through production, applying advanced technical knowledge to real-world design challenges. You'll be integral in developing and implementing aeroacoustics solutions, working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies including CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, and advanced acoustic analysis.

As an Aeroacoustics Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Vehicle Engineering, and Program Management, contributing to Tesla's reputation for redefining what's possible in the automotive industry. Responsibilities For Aeroacoustics Engineer

  • Define and execute experimental aeroacoustics test programs
  • Build aeroacoustics CFD simulations to understand and visualize key noise sources
  • Work with NVH team to predict interior noise contributions
  • Analyze and document test and simulation results
  • Correlate test and simulation data to improve understanding and prediction capabilities
  • Develop novel concepts in CAD to improve noise sources
  • Work with designers and engineers to implement concepts
  • Provide feedback to Programs team on aeroacoustics attributes and development status

Requirements For Aeroacoustics Engineer

Python
Java
  • Expert knowledge of aerodynamic noise, acoustic theory and fluid dynamics
  • Track record of aeroacoustics design ability
  • Experience with wind tunnel, road and track testing methods for aeroacoustics
  • Understanding of CFD/CAA fundamentals
  • Ability to work towards challenging, dynamic goals with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Siemens TestLab, STAR-CCM+, HPC usage preferred
  • Experience scripting in Bash, Matlab, Python, Java preferred
  • Experience using CAD software (preferably Catia) preferred
  • Experience conducting acoustic wind tunnel and on road testing preferred
