Tesla's Factory Software team is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their night shift operations in Austin. This role is crucial in supporting the software systems that power Tesla's manufacturing processes. The position combines technical expertise with stakeholder management, focusing on maintaining and troubleshooting MES and ERP applications critical to production.

The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert, providing solutions to complex problems while working closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities For Application Support Engineer, Factory Software (Night Shift)

  • Understand and own the end-to-end integration of MES and ERP applications for production site
  • Triage issues from production sites and ensure proper resolution or routing
  • Create workarounds for immediate solutions when permanent ones aren't available
  • Document troubleshooting guides and provide user training
  • Work as incident commander for production-critical calls
  • Perform root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
  • Maximize productivity in changing environment with shifting priorities

Requirements For Application Support Engineer, Factory Software (Night Shift)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Willing to work 12-hour night shift on rotating schedule
  • Knowledge of MES, WMS, or ERP system
  • 2+ years of support experience
  • 2+ years of SQL knowledge
  • 1+ year experience with Python, Go, or another development language
  • 1+ year experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Understanding of integrated systems and dependencies
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
