Responsibilities For Automation Control Engineer

  • Program and debug structure text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms
  • Develop organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable code
  • Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery
  • Use Python scripting and SQL to interface equipment with Tesla Manufacturing Execution System
  • Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces
  • Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs
  • Design and implement control reliable safety systems
  • Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
  • Participate in equipment conceptual development
  • Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation

Requirements For Automation Control Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or 5+ years' experience
  • PLC (Siemens, Beckhoff or B&R preferred)
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI – Beckhoff View, WinCC, Ignition)
  • Proficiency creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD (EPLAN preferred)
  • Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming skills
