Tesla is seeking a skilled CAE & CFD Engineer to join their Battery Engineering team in a role that sits at the intersection of innovation and practical implementation. Responsibilities For CAE & CFD Engineer, Semi, Battery Engineering

  • Drive manufacturing centric battery pack/module designs with CAE and CFD
  • Perform advanced CAE and CFD simulations to evaluate and enhance sub-systems
  • Develop and apply advanced methodologies with smart analysis techniques
  • Develop and support subsystem level & full vehicle correlations
  • Conduct optimization studies using DOE/DFSS techniques
  • Perform analyses for feasibility of manufacturing, assembly, and service processes
  • Provide input in component specification and DFMEA
  • Produce concise management summaries and report-outs
  • Collaborate with other modeling and design teams

Requirements For CAE & CFD Engineer, Semi, Battery Engineering

Python
  • Deep knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Finite Volume Method, CFD, Material Science
  • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience
  • Excellent applied experience in COMSOL, ANSYS-FLUENT, STAR CCM+
  • Applied experience in MATLAB and Simulink preferred
  • Experience in HV battery design and optimization preferred
  • Experience in analysis of electronic components
  • Ability to work independently on pioneering problems
  • Ability to deliver analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraints
  • Ability to deconstruct complex test scenarios
  • Experience in iterative and collaborative automotive engineering environments
