Description For Cell Engineer, Cell Development

Tesla's Cell Engineering team is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the cross-functional design and validation of new battery cell designs. As a Cell Engineer, you'll serve as the technical project leader, driving collaboration between Tesla teams and external cell manufacturers. The role involves using engineering expertise to work with experts across Cell Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to accelerate new technologies from lab to production scale.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $124,000 - $216,000 annually, plus additional cash and stock awards. The role is based in Palo Alto, California, and requires quarterly overseas travel.

  • Experience in lithium-ion cell design preferred
  • Quarterly overseas travel expected
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
