Description For CNC Programmer & Mechanical Engineering Technician

Tesla's Manufacturing Test Engineering team is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer & Mechanical Engineering Technician to contribute to their mission of sustainable energy transition. This role is perfect for someone who combines mechanical expertise with CNC programming skills.

The position involves working with Tesla's powertrain and energy engineering groups, focusing on creating robust, data-centric production testing equipment. Responsibilities For CNC Programmer & Mechanical Engineering Technician

  • Mechanical build and assembly of precision test equipment
  • Program, setup, run and maintain 3-axis vertical CNC Mill
  • Cut various materials, build tooling, set fixtures, prove and run programs
  • Work closely with engineers on design for machining and assembly
  • Machine complex components to tight tolerances
  • Use inspection and measurement tools to validate work
  • Track and document machining processes and results
  • Perform assignments in accordance with EH&S and security policies

Requirements For CNC Programmer & Mechanical Engineering Technician

  • 5+ years of experience building industrial equipment machinery
  • 3+ years of CNC mill programming experience
  • CAM programming with SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion experience
  • 3D CAD experience/knowledge, preferably SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with measurement and inspection tools
  • Ability to follow mechanical drawings and assemble fixtures
  • Ability to identify and procure tooling solutions
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
